Gloucester Family Care are tailored to support young people aged between 16 and 25, encouraging them to focus on their strengths, build positive support networks to achieve their aspirations and maintain stability in their adulthoods. Our service currently specialises in supported accommodation for looked after children over the age of 16, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, young people facing homelessness, and those experiencing family or relationship breakdown. We are currently in the process of expanding our service to enable us to offer accommodation-based support to young parents, as well as care leavers over the age of 18.
​The provision of good quality, safe accommodation for young people aged 16 and over, regardless of gender, race, religion or ability, is of utmost importance to us. Within our highly skilled, experienced and diverse staff team, we can provide in-house translation support across a number of different languages, including Arabic, Urdu (often understood by those who are from Afghanistan), Czech and Polish.

Our Supported Accommodation service was established in Gloucester in 2020, we have since built a strong portfolio of beautiful and compliant houses for young people to call home.
Each of our properties are maintained to an exceptionally high standard, fully furnished and constantly improved and updated. All young people have their own safe, secure and homely bedroom and will be actively encouraged to work with staff to plan how they may like to individualise their personal space.

Sarah is the Registered Service Manager for our Gloucester service. Sarah has been a Registered Social Worker for over twenty years, working across varying Children's services. Sarah can draw on a wealth of knowledge, to direct and lead our Gloucester service to ensure GFC provide a safe and protective environment where young people are appropriately safeguarded from harm.

yeovil
In 2024, GFC has expanded its' Supported Accommodation service to Somerset. Duplicating our tried and tested model from Gloucester, we have invested in a large, four bedroom period home. This house is another welcoming homely environment for our young people to enjoy.

Sasha will be the Service Manager for our Yeovil Supported Accommodation service when she returns from maternity leave in 2025. Our Operational Director Gavin will cover this role until Sasha's return. Sasha has worked in Children's Services for over 15 years, working in a number of senior and managerial roles, to ensure the service and support delivered is of the highest quality.

In working alongside the Local Authority and their wider professional network, when a young person comes into our care, we ensure that a comprehensive, supportive and individualised plan is devised to cater for their specific need.
​
We are aware that the referral process is not something that is simply a 9-5 requirement and as such we we will always do our best to respond to any emergency referrals.
