Services

supported accomodation

Gloucester Family Care's  supported accommodation program provides superior, quality accommodation for care experienced young people.

We offer shared accommodation, with adults supporting our young people to develop their skills so they may live as independently as possible. We are passionate about offering a safe, positive and nurturing environment. This enables us to offer wide and varied support across all aspects of an individual's of life, including mental health, education, integrating in to the community and support with relationships with family and friends.

The resources we have available to us, include a communal 'hub', which offers an opportunity for our young people to experience cooking and eating in a shared environment. This space also enables small groups to socialise by watching films, gaming or having group discussions, providing quality time in more social surroundings. Staff also use the Hub to work individually with our young people to complete key work and plan the next stage of their journey.

We pride ourselves on working really closely with the local authorities and a young person's wider professional network to ensure positive outcomes for them throughout their time in care. We can differentiate and offer a mixture of support packages, to include both high and low levels of support, which will be monitored and adapted according to the individual need.

To further prepare our young people, we can also offer self contained 'move on' accommodation providing the opportunity for an heightened level of independence. This would be meticulously planned between our young people and staff,  to foster the confidence and readiness required for them to take this step.

We aim to instil a sense of belonging during a young person's time with us, but we are also always forward thinking with them to aspire for success and security in their life beyond care.

Residential
children's home

We are currently completing the Ofsted application process to open our first Children's home, which will be open in the Summer of 2023.

The purpose of our home will be to provide a safe, stable and consistent living environment within which children and young people may have the opportunity to develop to their full potential. Children and young people within the care system can often feel that they are isolated and different.

We believe that we should actively challenge these barriers whenever the opportunity arises. Being in a residential home can and should be a positive experience for children and young people, Gloucester Family Care will do all be can to provide this.

We believe that Children and young people in residential childcare should be loved, happy, healthy, safe from harm and able to develop, thrive and fulfil their potential.

Gloucester Family Care will value and nurture each child and young person as an individual with talents, strengths and capabilities that can develop over time.

Our home will be a safe and stimulating environment in high-quality buildings, with spaces that support nurture and allow privacy as well as common spaces and spaces to be active.

referrals

In working alongside the Local Authority and their wider professional network, when a young person comes into our care, we ensure that a comprehensive, supportive and individualised plan is devised to cater for their specific need.

We are aware that the referral process is not something that is simply a 9-5 requirement and as such we are available 24 hours a day to respond to any referrals.  This allows us to respond in real time and help with emergency placements at  very short notice, as well as being well placed to give a more detailed response when the requirement is not as time sensitive.

To enquire about placement availability please contact Gavin for further information.
